“Sport and especially the triathlon taught me perseverance in the pursuit of the goal. At times when thoughts come to mind: "what am I doing here", "I can not do it", "I have to stop" "give up", I can control the situation and calmly continue to do my thing. Self-discipline, consistent and systematic work, well-planned activities, appropriate motivation are features that are very useful in both sports and work.”
How did you discover your passion for triathlon? Why did you choose this sport?
Sport in my life was present from an early age, in elementary school and high school I trained basketball, I studied at the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdansk. I became interested in the Triathlon in 2013, when I saw the first competition in Poznań live, I felt the emotions that accompany these events, I met a few people who already trained. Previously, I trained only running and thought that it would be worth to try something more. And it started ...

What do your preparations for the competition look like?
Triathlon is a demanding sport because we combine three disciplines in it: swimming, cycling and running. Trainings depend to a large extent on the distance we want to overcome at the competition. There are a lot of these distances, we can choose from the shortest sprints to the full distance of Iron Man. Also anyone who can swim, ride a bike and run can try their strength ;-). This year I was preparing for full distance in Triathlon, the so-called Iron Man. To complete this, you have to swim 3.8 km, ride a bike 180 km and run a marathon, or 42.2 km. Preparations for such professions are very demanding and last several months. I had to spend 10 to 15 hours a week for training, combined with work, family and other duties it was very difficult. That's why good organization of the day, self-discipline, and the favor and understanding of my wife allowed me to train. The trainings themselves were very varied depending on the preparation stage. One of my favorites is the so-called "Bookmark", which combines two disciplines into one training, e.g. 4 hours of cycling + 2 hours. running.

What are your greatest sports achievements? During these few years of training, I managed to finish dozens of professions at different distances. I stood on the podium several times ;-). However, the biggest success is the participation in MP in Bydgoszcz at the distance of the full Iron Man. For such competitions you have to be prepared not only in terms of physical but also mental and have planned each moment of the competition. You need to know at what speed you should ride a bike, at what pace we have to run and when to take a meal, a gel, an energy bar that at some point we do not run out of fuel. It is an extraordinary experience that lasts almost all day. The start at such competitions starts at 7am and comes to the finish line in the afternoon :-). I finished this competition in the 14th place in my age category with the time of 10 hours and 39 minutes. I am a man of iron :-).
Does sport help you in the daily work of a medical representative?
Sport and especially the triathlon taught me perseverance in the pursuit of the goal. At times when thoughts come to mind: "what am I doing here", "I can not do it", "I have to stop" "resign" "still 30 km :-) I can control the situation and calmly continue to do my thing. Self-discipline, consistent and systematic work, well-planned activities, appropriate motivation are features that are very useful in both sports and work. With this approach, each of our goals will be implemented and properly rewarded.

What would you like to achieve in sport yet? What are your goals?
The goal is one, it is also my dream. I would like to win a slot (qualification) that will allow me to take part in the Iron Man World Cup in my age category. These competitions take place every year in Hawaii in Kona. The best amateurs like professional triathletes from around the world compete there. A very ambitious goal, but everything is possible and who wants to find a way. ;-)
